My Little Mischief!

During the day, when I'm already done with my house chores, I make sure to play and bond with my little girl for a while before hitting my office desk formy online stuff like checking emails, blogging....etc. I let Sam to watch her favorite dvd movies to keep her occupied. For that day, she requested forthe Elmo's World dvd collection. While I'm in the pc, I ensure to take a peek and check her every once and a while to see if everything's ok with her. She's having a great time watching her favorite red puppet. I still can hardly hear her giggles and singing the elmo jingle. Then after a few minutes, I just noticed that there's a sudden silence, thinking that maybe she got exhausted from her non-stop dancing and singing. Can't help but to check on her. To my suprise, this was what I saw!

the crime scene

Oh noh!...She's playing with her baby powder!I didn't know how did she got it. She's having a great time spreading the powder into our couch...my goodness!...haha! Immediately grabbed my cam and caught her in action!..lol!

caught on act!

She even tried to step on it. "Parang di pa nakuntento sa kamay!...haha". She's still not aware that I'm already at her back...

the suspect!...lol!

Aha!.... she's really shocked to see me behind her. She was about to cry because she know that I'll be getting mad on her when she does something bad like this. But instead of getting mad on her, I just found myself laughing...haha! Her face is full of powder as well!...oh boy! She immediately said "sorry mommy!" with a sweet and irresistible smile..."paano ka ba naman magagalit nyan!...lol!

My Crying Diva @ the Mini Fashion Show

the runway

in her best mood and still eager to pose

This exciting event was held last May 4 at the Glorietta Park in Ayala Ave, Makati. The show was a part of the Caravan of Fun's exciting and fun-filled 2 days event. The show was supposed to be sched on the 3rd of May. But due to our unpredictable weather condition (as in the sun was on it's finest glare from late morning till 3pm I guess, until to this sudden poured of really heavy rain halfway after 3pm)...imagine that? As in everybody were soaked wet. Mommy Joanne doesn't have any other choice but to cancel the fashion show and re-sched it on the next day.

it's time to do her catwalk

Oh well, It's May 4! The weather looks great, but still.. We can't tell what will happen on the next couple of hours. You know our weather is really deceiving! Call time was earlier than before. We were asked to be there by 12:30pm. We're at the venue at exactly 12:30pm...hehe. So...this is it! Our little girl was about to have her very first modeling experience. We already taught her about the things she needs to do in the stage ahead of time. We've missed the show rehearsal last Friday because of some important reasons. I just asked Mommy Nina for some tips about the practice (thanks sis!) and did our own version at home. At first she's really eager to pose, still providing her sweetest smile in front of the camera. Striking a pose and even winks!..haha! Then when it's already her turn to go up and ramp... I can see already the anxieties on her face…hahaha! The woos and claps of the audience, plus the flashing cameras everywhere and the loud sound system starting to scare her. It seems that her crocs suddenly became heavy that she can’t even walk normally... hehe! Small steps were done with her head down and sad eyebrows. Oh no… my little girl was about to cry! Daddy was on the rescue! Since I’m on the back stage I asked him to position his self in front so that Sam could see him. So this is it… our little girl suddenly melts down in the middle of her modeling moment… my poor little girl.

got scared with the whoos and claps of the audience plus paparrazis everywhere

the "melt down"

Honestly I was a little bit disappointed at her and myself because everything we practice and the motivation and everything just went into waste (very bad mommy me no?...hehe). But then I realized that I shouldn't need to have this kind of attitude. She’s my daughter. Just a little girl who is a first timer in modeling . That normally to have this kind of initial reaction in front of many people. I should be more proud of her because she really tried her best. I know most mommies here were also first timers fully pledge stage moms…as in literally nasa back stage or any sides of the stage while their kids performs. That as much as possible, we want to meet the expectations regarding our kid’s performance. But whatever happened, we should be thankful enough for their achievements, whether little or big accomplishments… diba? Kaya I’m very proud of her whatever happened…my little ramp model. She has her own title na nga c/o mommy Jen…the little "Crying Diva!”…haha! :

she's ok na here and willing to model na after the show....sheesh!..lolz!

My Little Sam Got Sick

Sam had fever last thursday until yesterday morning. I already administered her with paracetamol every 4 hours to lower her body temperature that ranges from 38.5 last friday to 39.5 the next day! A few weeks ago before we had our boracay trip, she's already having a flu that unfortunately lead to bronchitis. Good thing her Ninang Pedia was just only a few blocks away from our house. The Dr. prescribed her with antibiotics that she needs to take for one week, and paracetamol every 4 hours for fever. I really got worried because this is the first time that Sam got really sick this serious. The Dr. said that I don't need to worry because she'll get better soon with the antibiotics. I also informed the Dr. that we will be having a trip for the next 2 days. She said it's safe to travel and might be helpful to get her more better, just don't forget to bring her medications. So for our 3/d 2/n bora trip with 3x/day antibiotic, she's on her way to recovery. I even let her swim to the beach inspite of her cough & colds. She didn't got any fever until we arrived back here in Manila last Feb. 29.

It's almost a week since then and she had fully recover. Until this thursday, she had this fever again. She's very playful and eats well, no signs of any discomfort. It's that just she barely sleep at night. I also had these sleepless nights because I'm monitoring her body temp. I gave her a sponge bath with alcohol and even applied cool-gel in her forehead just to lower the temp. The fever subsides with the effect of paracetamol but gets back after a few hours. She has no signs of cough and colds, I began to worry again. The next day, I already informed her Ninang Pedia about her condition because her temp already reached to 39.5. The Dr. said that if her fever will still continue on the 3rd day, Sam need to have a blood test already. Now, I'm really really getting worried because she might already manifesting the signs of Dengue Fever. The desease is really common here in the Phils and with other countries that has a humid weather. Anyone can get the desease from a bite of an infected mosquito and if not treated right away, it could lead to more serious damage and death. I'm really praying that it's not, that Sam is not infected. No other medications was prescribed by the Dr., only paracetamol for the fever. My brother suggested to me that the clinic (Med first, Mega Mall) where he works as a nurse have this test to detect early symptoms of dengue. Without a doubt, I really want Sam to take the test right away. On the 3rd day, Sam's temp is beginning to get back to normal until noon that day. I planned to bring her to the clinic in the afternoon but the fever totally subsides and it continued on the evenening and on the next.

I was totally relieved that she's getting better. I'm still wondering what was the underlying cause of her high fever. She had a slight sign of runny nose after but not to become a significant factor for her to have a high fever. I also checked her teeth for any signs of tooth eruption which is very common on her age, but there's no showing of another tooth yet. I'm thinking that maybe it's another sign of "lagnat-laki" kaya? What do you think my fellow moms? =)

Sam's Lip Injury

I panicked yesterday when Sam suddely tipped off to our three-steps concrete marble tiled stairs yesterday afternoon. She already mastered going up & down to the stairs and i always remind her to be very careful and watched her steps everytime. But yesterday she seems missed her balanced and fell down two steps from the top. She really cried and I immediately checked her for bumps and bruises. Im very particular with the head and neck and praying that she didn't hurt those badly. Upon checking her face, i saw the cut on her upper lip and blood already dripping inside her mouth. I got really scared and took a closer look at it if she broke a tooth. Thank god that the injury concentrated only on her upper lip!

I administered immediate compression as first aid to stop the bleeding. And applied frosty iced candy (good thing we have some stock inside the freezer) to her lips to constrict the blood vessels and again, to prevent further bleeding. I immediately called her Ninang Pedia for her availability. She just lives two blocks from our house. I brought Sam to her to check and see if there's further injury. I was releived after she was checked and informed me that it was only a minor cut on her upper lip, and her teeth were not affected. She just asked me to administer a paracetamol every six hours for the pain, unless there's an occurance of fever, every four hours.

This incident really woke me up. Accidents really happened anytime and anywhere especially to our kids who explores a lot and will try everything within their curosity. But still Prevention is the best Treatment. It is still up to us, the parents to develop rules, instruct our child, be a role model, and set the necessary boundaries in order to ensure our child's safety.Constant reminders and heart to heart conversation should be done between us and our kids. We should explain that were not always at their sides to supervise them. Kids of their ages do not have the knowledge, maturity, and foresight to understand the consequences of their actions. They may not understand what were pertaining at first but regular talks will somehow stick the reminders to their little minds. Especially if they already experienced the consiquences and feeling of being hurt, it will alarmed them and hopefully will be really very careful on their actions the next time. =)

My Poor Little Sam

My little girl is having a cold symptoms today. Dunno where she got it. Maybe it's because of our very unpredictable weather condition here in the Phils. It's really humid and rainy season is still very in though Christmas is already fast approaching. She's also slightly feverish. Already administered her with paracetamol & cold meds. Inspite of her sickness, she's still very active and playful and doesn't mind her runny nose...haha! hays... =(
