School Birthdays

sam with the celebrants: classmates ajah, kaithlyn and alyanna

This week was a bit busy for Sammy’s school routine. 3 of her dear classmates celebrated their birthdays in school, excluding ate Keanna’s 6th birthday party. One celebrated on the 22nd, the other was on the 23rd, and lastly was today. Since its Sam’s 1st time in school, I didn’t know that the students can actually spend their birthdays at school. Just need to coordinate with their teachers to allot some time for the celebration. The kids enjoyed the balloons and loot bags rather than the food ...haha! They sang happy birthday to each of the celebrant. Now, I’m thinking if I’m going to spend Sam's 4th birthday in school as well by January of next year...hmmm :p

a simple celeb...

In celebration of my __th birthday...hehe, I just treat Sam & my brother out. We just went out on the 7th of July since my brother is on duty on the 6th. We headed off to The Block of SM North after Sam's school and treat them out with a sumptuous lunch. After dining in, I decided to give my Sam her very first movie house experience. Good thing that Kung-Fu Panda is still showing. Before entering the movie house, I told Sam that "we are going to watch in a very very big tv, and it's really dark inside...but don't worry because mommy & tinong are going to take care of you, so don't worry and behave ok?...no talking and no screaming inside the cinema ok?" And she did! She enjoyed her very first movie date! She's so fond of the Furious Five especially the fat lead star Po. Though hubby was not here...as usual!...heheI I still did enjoy my special day though we just celebrate it in a simple way. :p

Sam Decorates Cake for Daddy

Sam and I were able to get a cake for her daddy's simple welcome home and birthday party celebration tomorrow. My first choice was supposedly to get a cake from Red Ribbon. I like it more as compared from the cakes of goldilucks though both has a very good impression when it comes to birthday cakes. I was a bit disappointed with the service of Red Ribbon this afternoon. After choosing a nice cake and had it paid already athe cashier, they found out that the cake I purchased was damaged. As what I saw from their display cabinet, it's perfectly preserved and free from any damages they're talking about. Just found out that they're talking about the other cake, another stock from the fridge. I said, how about the one inside the display cabinet, it looks ok and I see nothing bad with the presentation. They immediately told me that It was already reserved by their other customer. I was really annoyed after they told me about it. They should'nt not display any products once it has already been paid. It was really disappointing because I really love their cakes. They even offered me a discount just to keep me from getting the damaged cake. But I said, I don't like it and don't want to purchase a damaged cake. I want something that is presentable for my hubby. After I refunded the payment. Sam & I immediately went to the other cake shop, the Goldilucks. And purchased a new and beautiful cake. I even bought additional flowers and animal candy decors. Sam enjoys decorating her daddy's birthday cake. Can't wait to get a slice of it!...haha!

It's My Brother's Birthday

We celebrated my brother's birthday yesterday. We went out and he treated me and Sam for a sumptous lunch at Dencio's, Trinoma branch. We ordered for a special pansit canton, pork sisig, fish molo soup and bbq chicken. Sam enjoyed the soup and the chicken. My bro received a cup of mouth watering ice cream freebie from his credit card. He just need to charge what we ate to avail the freebie. He just gave the ice cream to Sam and of course, she enjoyed it. We did some shopping after the lunch. Sam enjoys her "laboy" day once again..lol! :p

Sam's Birthday Layout

This is only a part of the birthday kit that I'm working for Sam's birthday layouts. I was able to make a metal alphas and four colorful balloons from scratch!...yey! I still want to add some more colorful embellishments like party hats, confettis, ice cream & some more party need stickers. I also made the red polka dot papers. I did the design and just applied a premade overlay texture. Need to add more paper with the same color coordinates. Whew!...really need to learn a lot more when it comes to designing! It's really a long way to go!...hahaha =)

Sam's 3rd birthday simple party preps

Mickey Mouse & Friends birthday theme for Sam

I was inspired by the Disney On Ice show that my daughter & I watched just this January. And since her birthday is fast approaching, i'm still undecided if i'm gonna give her a themed birthday party or what. The original plan with hubby was to give her a Jollibee party instead para less worries in terms of preparations, kasi it comes in a package na. And I want him to be with us to celebrate it para complete family kami. Mike's original sched to come home was supposed to be on this March & the party was planned to have on March na nga din. He just found out that it'll be moved on April pa, to the worst is on May because of work related issues! I told him that it's really late na to celebrate if we still pursue our plans, kawawa naman si Sam. So in other words, i need to prepare a simple party for Sam just with only a week ahead before her actual birthday. It's also kinda too late na din to booked her to have a Jollibee party, late in terms of invitations. I can't guarantee that everybody on the list could attend if ever. And the minimum packs for kids is 30! Sayang naman kung di din makak-attend lahat because of a short notices nga. So no choice but to celebrate it at home, atleast i can control & assume how many will be coming. In less than a week preparations, and no time to visit our famous Divisoria...hehe, here's what i've got from the malls:

Mickey Mouse & friends birthday banner - this is not availbale in any toy store. They have the banner but in different design and not like this, this is much larger. i bought it @ Lollipops Safety Baloon Center, one of the kiosks @ SM north mall.

Mickey Mouse & Friends Lootbags - loaded with assorted mickey mouse goodies inside. Also available at all leading toy store nationwide.

Themed Part Hats - available @ Toy Kingdom or Toys R'us
Themed Paper Plates & Cups - also bought from Lillipops Safety Baloons Center, not availbale at any toy store. The shop is a license distributor of
disney themed party needs. But if you have time to visit Divisoria, there's a lot of local party needs suppliers there.

18' Mickey Mouse Mylar Baloon - also @ Lollipops Safety Baloons Center

Mickey Mouse & Friends assorted color Lollipop Baloons - available @ any toy store

Mickey Mouse Hotdog Baloon - available @ any toy store

Mickey Mouse & Friends Birthday Cake - made of a delicious moist chocolate cake covered with colorful icing & Mickey Mouse & Friends cake toppers

We don't need to throw a big birthday party all of the time, but if you do have the budget, why not diba? Just be creative & resourceful to find the perfect party theme and a budget friendly party supplies that you & your kids would definitely love!

Sam's 3rd Birthday celebration!

Our original plan (with hubby) was to give Sam a Jollibee birthday party on March, in time for his annual vacation But since Mike couldn't make it on March, there's no choice but to have her party @ home na lang & to have it on her actual birthdate. After a short & tiring preparation time, I was able to throw a birthday party for my little girl. We were able to celebrate my little Sam's 3rd Birthday party last Sunday, January 27, 2008 with family, some relatives & a couple of friends. Her actual birthday was supposed to be on the 28th, monday. But since the date falls on weekdays , i decided to celebrate it on the 27th, sunday so that everybody can make it.

She had a Mickey Mouse & Friends birthday theme party. I was inspired by the Disney On Ice show that made me decided to choose the said theme...hehe! Good thing there's an ample source of disney party needs @ the mall. I was able to find a perfect dress to match her minnie mouse headband @ Purple Candy children's clothing. I still got her birthday cake from the maker of her Dora & Barney birthday cake she had from her 2nd birthday party last year. Again, i did all the cookings from my special spaghetti, shanghai, fried chicken, hotdogs on sticks (the usual kiddie menu) with my bro's own version of creamy carbonara, my in-law's share of special mechado & mouth watering pork bbq. They also bought some ice cream for the kids to enjoy. Everybody gorged the afternoon birthday menu.

My little girl is really growing. Not just physically, but socially. She's already becoming more mature & friendly to everybody especially to kids of her age. She used to have her tantrums kasi from her past two birthdays and cries a lot. As in crying to the max everytime her birthday guests starts to arrive. Doesn't want to be touch by anyone & always clinged to me. This year was different. I thought she'll be going to throw her crying drama again...haha!.. But to my surprise i saw the big smile on her face when she saw her young titas (mike's cousin's from her dad's side) with her lolo arrives. She looks so very excited. She entertained them & even shared her toys & played with them. While i'm still busy for the final touched up of her party, im hearing her laughing, giggles & loudly playing with her guests. She really enjoys the company of her young titas! She was able to see her Tita Irish again, whom she initially cried upon arrival but finally gave in after giving her her birthday presence..hehe! We were able to finally meet na din si mommy steff & keanna who happens to be our neighbors lang..haha!. Sayang nga lang that some of her guests didn't make it because of some important reasons. But still looking forward to have a playdate with them in the future..(*wink!*)..hehe! Everybody had a great time & even very tired na, I'm still seeing the big happy smile of my girl @ the end of the day. Happy 3rd birthday baby! =)

A Little Friend's Birthday Party

Its "Tita Ayish" secret agenda! haha..Sam & I was invited to attended Aynrand's 7th birthday party held @ Shakey's SM North last Oct. 7, 2007. We also called this event as our mini eyeball for all the stage moms of Irish..hehe I was able to meet at last some of mommy online friends like Nina (mom of Phil & Jian), Joy (mom of Vodka) and Jen ( mom of Jhyl & Jermaine). We did had a great time but lesser time for chikahan because our attention was to look over our kidos. Thanks so much to Irish (naks!) for this very wonderful time that some of us, the stage mommies were able to gather & meet up. Looking forward to have another get together with you guys & hopefully, we can add up & invite more stage moms/online moms to join us for a cup of vanilla latte (my fave) and a tall choco frap for the kids..haha! Sayang nga coz im no longger connected with the company (Starbucks) for a discount sana!...

Sam's 2nd Birthday Party

Sam really loves Dora & Barney. Since she's a girl, i decided to give her a Dora party instead...and a little bit of Barney on her cake na lang..hehe. Sam celebrated her 2nd birthday on January 28, 2007 with the family...minus her dad (who always missed her actual birthdate) and some of her Ninongs and Ninangs and a few family friends. I decorated the house with dora theme party needs like the ballons, birthday banner, party hats, confettis, paper cups & plates, napkins (all themed dora party needs available at all department store, toy section nationwide) and the dora mylar ballons which i personally bought somewhere in divisoria. I prepared a simple lootbags for the kiddie guests loaded with assorted goods. I also did most of the cookings like the usual home cooked Spaghetti, hotdogs on sticks, pork shanghai, my special menudo, and fruit salad. My in-laws brought bbq & scrumptious lechon. Sam enjoyed her party though a little bit cranky at first. She refuses to take her morning nap that's why she got really irritated na during the party, plus adding some unfamiliar faces pa inside the house..haha! But when it's time for the cake blowing and saw her beautiful cake, the glow in her face instantly appears! Everyone sang her happy birthday & she finally blew her birthday cake. Everyone had a great time. She can't wait to open all her birthday presents!..haha! Happy 2nd birthday my dearly Sam!
