my designs @ digiscrapdepot.com

I'm doing my usual digiscrap freebie kit hunting when i stumble to digiscrapdepot.com once more. I was suprised seeing my design there as on of the current scrapbook theme! I think I uploaded them to the site sometime a couple months ago. I started to design almost 4 months ago and had a little chance doing it again because my schedule started to be frantic upon the onset of summer season. I really want to design again & do a lot more beautiful kits for you to enjoy. Maybe I can start designing again one of these days. For now, I also missed doing layout designing. I have a huge collections of new pics to scrap from my new slr cam... a gift from my hubby! :p

Sam Decorates Her Own Krispy Kreme Doughnut

"We all love Krispy Kreme Doughnuts"

with the trinoma team

Sam was able to experience on how to design her own Krispy Kreme Doughnut. Good thing she's really in her good mood that time when one of the crew approached our table and invited our little Sam to join them and be part of their little crew. Actually this was the second invitation. The first time was last december pa. Anyway, she cooperates well with Kitkat (store crew) and goes with her for the doughnut decoration. Daddy was the one who took the pictures. The rest of the staff were so amused of her behind the counter. The best part of it was she got her decorated doughnut for free na! Thanks Krispy Kreme! :p

Sam's getting ready for School!

Sam will be entering nursery already @ St. Raphaela Mary School, just a walking distance school from our house. Glad to find this one after scouting for a different school near qc when hubby was still here. I really find some of them appropriate for my little schooler in terms of facilities and form of teaching (traditional vs progressive), but some of them are really way too far from our place. Maybe when she enter already the big school...I'll consider the place even if it's a bit far. For now, my hubby & I agreed to enroll her to this school. Facilities is ok with fully air-conditioned rooms (from primary to secondary). There will be only more or less 10 students on Sam's class and they will have two teachers for 3hours class. And believe my, my daughter is really excited to go na. She always says, "mommy & ninong stay home lang..and Sam (pertaining to herself)...in school"...haha! I'm really delighted to hear her this...that she doesn't want me to roam around while she's having a class...hehe! I'm really hoping that the opposite thing wouldn't happen on the first day...that she'll be clingy to me and begging me not to leave her or else... she'll make a scene...waaah!...oh no! haha!...oh well, goodluck to me!:p

For now I'm the one who is excited to shop for her school supplies...actually she already have some, but i'm not yet contented...parang may kulang pa...haha

Photography is not cheap, and it will never be...

Photography is not cheap, and it will never be, unless you consider “snapshooting,” photography. Most people perceive photography as a business and money-making opportunity, a venture to earn big bucks out of the unlimited shutter clicks on each digital camera. Businessmen, who know nothing other than profits, cash, and company checks, assume the same – for as they say, “digital naman.”

Photographers indeed make money out of their crafts, but they do so precisely because they deserve to be paid for their skills and artworks. They have earned their way to learn and perfect a craft, a not-so-easy feat to begin with. Chefs cook, doctor’s cure, actors act, professors teach. Like these professionals, photographers too spend years, and maybe even decades, learning and mastering the art. Just like an ordinary person, photographers too spend money (that most don’t have enough of, by the way) for this craft. Photographers too spend time, energy, effort, and passion producing an output, something that will always be a part of the photographer as an artist, and something that will identify the work as a product of the artist. This identity from the artist is what makes each piece unique, what gives each piece an attitude and character, what makes each work important. this identity is the “essence” of the artist, if you may – the “essence” that is largely connected to the special talent and skill needed to translate the passion within into a tangible piece of work, into an 8x10 that you hang on to the wall or put in a gold-gilded frame waiting for guests to ooh and aah.

Secondly, someone’s got to pay the rent.

Our Caleruega Experience

After our tiring expediton to the Eco-Adventure Trail in Tagaytay, and since we are already near to Batanggas...we decided to take a stop-over to this well-known place along Nasugbu Batanggas, the Caleruega. The Caleruega is a spiritual center located in the hilly part of Batulao, Batangas owned by the Dominican Province of the Philippines. Journey to a place of spiritual healing and reflection.

The Caleruega grounds in Tagaytay is a sanctuary for the soul and the spirit. The sprawling flora and lush environs makes Caleruega the perfect place for retreats, weddings, or simply an afternoon away from the metro. It was primarily constructed to serve as a venue for spiritual activities like retreats primarily for Dominican schools. At present it is open to the public for seminars, trainings, and private weddings.

Its facilities include a chapel, two session halls, two dormitories, more than 20 medieval-type cottages, a refectory, an adoration room, and a campsite. Its rugged landscape and serene environment is perfect for meditations that make visitors feel relaxed and comfortable. Caleruega was named and patterned after the medieval town in Spain, which is the birthplace of the founder of the Dominican Order, St. Dominic de Guzman. Also, you can’t go there and miss the 150-seater Transfiguration Chapel, which has been seen in many movies (if you watched Sukob where Kris & Wendell got married). This rustic church surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers is the perennial Batangas-wedding venue favorite. Its charm and beauty attracts couples and ordinary sightseers from all over the country. This church is perfect for small and intimate weddings

Trip to Ec0-Adventure Trail, Tagaytay

If you want to experience the cool breeze of the mountains (without having to take a long trip going to Baguio) and see the panoramic view of Taal Lake and its volcano while enjoying the facilities and ambiance of the special interest resort at a very reasonable price, check out the 500-meter Eco-Adventure Trail just located inside the 13.5-hectare hillside resort of Tagaytay Picinic Grove. It was constructed amid a natural park overlooking the famous Taal Volcano. The scenic walkway, which hugs the rugged terrain of the picnic grove, gives Tagaytay visitors a number of spectacular views of the island-volcano of Taal. Its winding and rolling pathways provide tourists a challenging stroll or a leisurely walk.

Sitting on a landscaped area, the Eco-Trail is a long boardwalk that would serve as an alternative view deck for tourists and is highlighted by a miniature forest complete with a hanging bridge. Newly built picnic sheds strategically dot the area. The grove also offers various amenities such as a restaurant, cottage accommodations, function halls, picnic areas and view decks. The view was fantastic even though it rained and the sky was a bit dark. This is second time that I went to see the place after almost a decade, I think t'was during my college years. The trip was really fun even if it was really tiring. Sam really enjoys walking with matching non-stop talking and singing pa! Hays...so ever hyper kid!..haha! My in-laws on the other hand almost gives-up finishing the trail and they really catches breath after the trip. Long trail with stairs just made them really tired. But at least we've lost lots of calories in return...hehehe :p And not to mention, a really great place for your photo ops as well.

Double Winner!

I'm starting to get hooked already joining in the different magazine contest available in the metro. After my little Sammie's first (hopefully not the last...hehe!) appearance on SP Mag (Aug 2007 issue), i considered to join her as well to different magazine contest i know. It was just this year when I started to send different photos of her to different baby and parenting mag contest. Trying out any luck to win at least one. Thanks to Mommy Steff for reminding me about the ongoing mag contest in wmm c/o girlytalk. I sent Sam's photo and luckily, though not chosen as the ultimate winner, was already a winner for me because she was included in the gallery (wmm baby face for the month of March2008) :p Since then, I started to send more photos of Sam and ensure to send those before the mag's required deadline.

This month, Sam's photos won the Moms Today's Precious Moments and Milestone contests. Yes, she won on both categories...Yehey!!! :p I'm so happy when Steff informed me the good news. I just grabbed the scanned copy to our GT group because I still don't have the copy yet. I'm so proud of my little girl for winning twice at the same time in the same magazine. One thing that amazes me more was the prizes install. MT mag is so generous enough to give all these exciting prizes to all the winners! Imagine that? Sobrang galante diba, unlike the other mags, the main winner was the only one entitled to have the special gift packs. ...oopsie, no offense. :p Oh well, I'm not after with the prizes and gifts packs naman. For me, just seeing my little girl's photo printed in different parenting magazine is indeed a grand winner already! :p

Sam's special gift pack from Sanofi-Aventis Lactacyd and Dryeprs for winning in the Precious Moments contest

Sam's special gift pack from Wyeth Phils. and Enfant for winning in the Milestone contest

my little winner!

A Simple Celebration...

I can consider this as one of my most memorable mother's day celebration from the past 3 years of my life of being a mom to my little girl. My daughter & I usually celebrates it without his daddy. His annual vacation always falls on the summer period and leaves before the loom of the mother's day month. Yesterday, our celebration was plain simple, but yet really special for me. It's the first time that hubs is still around to join us in celebration.

I was a bit feeling sick yesterday & wasn't able to go out for our supposed to be dinner date with my family as what hubby planned earlier yesterday. We just agreed to have a simple dinner celebration at home as the next option. I just feel asleep for a while, while Sam was taking her nap and didn't noticed that hubs sneak out for a moment. I was just surprised when he arrives with a bouquet of flowers, a beautiful cake from red ribbon and a take out dinner from one of my favorite resto, the Mann-Hann . It was really an emotional moment for me because it's been a while since hubby astonished me again with a spray of fresh flowers, that he usually do during our younger years as couple. I'm so thankful to God for this wonderful opportunity of celebrating the day with my one and only better half. Time can't tell If when would be the next instance that he'll be joining us again to celebrate mom's day. There's nothing more to ask for than just being with the comfort of our love ones during this special day. Happy Mother's day again to us...moms!
