Hopeless Romantic Me

I admit it, I'm a hopeless romantic and I really love to watch this kind of romantic comedy movie. Music and Lyrics offers a little something for everyone while, of course, playing up to the women who dominate romantic comedy audiences. I think this was shown early last year. I wasn't able to watch it because I'm not really a fan of Hugh Grant. On the other hand, I'm a Drew Barrymore fan. I really like to watch her movies. Upon watching this movie, I saw that the chemistry works well between Grant and Barrymore and both seem to be having fun with the material. I also liked that they sang themselves instead of lip-synching. That’s what I gather but I can’t really say for sure. Grant really does have a good voice. And for the first time on film we get to watch Hugh Grant dance, sing and play the piano, and surprisingly he does all three fairly well. Just seeing Grant in '80s fashions shaking his butt in a cheesy music video within the film is worth the price of admission.

Music and Lyrics casts Hugh Grant as Alex Fletcher, a has-been pop singer from a Wham!-ish ‘80s group who earns a living cashing in on his former success by singing at amusement parks, tiny concert venues, and the occasional high school reunion. Alex is actually satisfied with his present state of minor fame, but his business manager/friend (Brad Garrett) knows Alex has still got a few notes left to hit in his career before he’s relegated to the land of pop obscurity.

A surprising opportunity emerges for Alex to regain a little of his prior fame when pop tartlet Cora Corman (Haley Bennett as a Britney clone complete with skimpy outfits and erotic dance moves) proclaims her love for his old songs and wants him to come up with a new tune for her current concert tour. The catch – he’s only got a couple of days to write the song. Further complicating his comeback hopes is the fact he writes music, but not lyrics. That huge problem is solved when plant lady Sophie Fisher (Drew Barrymore) throws out a few lines while in the process of watering his plants to death. It seems Sophie wanted to be a writer at one point but was persuaded she didn’t have any talent by her college professor (a real slimebag played by non-slimebag Campbell Scott). Alex needs Sophie to put words to his music and, if they can manage to work together without driving each other crazy. Music and Lyrics benefits from charming performances by the ever-dependable romantic comedy veterans Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. Grant and Barrymore make sweet music together (it’s sappy, but true) in this fluffy, feel-good movie.

Like a catchy pop song you can't stop humming, the sublime romantic melody of Music and Lyrics puts a smile on your face and love in your heart.But overall, Music and Lyrics is pleasant as far as it goes and is sure to please diehard romantic comedy fans. Everyone else should stay away -- unless your date is making you go. BTW, I really like the soundtrack of the movie "Way back Into Love". Though I'm not broken-hearted, I put a sample music player for yout to hear the song. Happy Listening! :p

My movie rate: 5 stars. :p

Smarty Little Girl

I was invited by one of my online buddy and neighbor, mommy Stef yesterday to join them for a lunch in celebration of her daughter's (Keanna) simple graduation party from prep. Keanna was able to make it as the first honor in her class making her mom & dad more prouder. I know that seeing your child's acheivements is really priceless. I suddenly imagined tha what if it's my Sam's turn already to go to school. Does she has the ability to excel too in her class or will be always in the list of those noisiest pupil..hehe, i really hope not. She's only 3 but I'm considering her already to enter the school this coming school year. Oh boy, time really flies so fast. She was just my little baby, then all of a sudden, she'll go schooling na....waaaah! Am I ready or not? I can't imagine that our time of being together will be lessen already. Hu..hu! I'll be missing my little girl a lot. Just thinking of it making me already feel upset. I'm already manifesting the signs of "Separation Anxiety" for parents. Hoping to overcome this transition when the time comes.

Three Column Blogger Template Tutorials

In this tutorial, I'll explain how to create a three column template in Blogger layouts, using the Minima template as a starting point. The Minima template is the easiest Blogger template to customise, as this is the simplest two column template, and has few parameters regarding margins, padding and the like. Once you have developed the third column, it will then be easier to alter font-size, colours and such so leave this until later on. We're going to concentrate on the actual layout first.
First of all, set your template to Minima (not the stretch template, but any colour will do!), then follow these instructions:
1. Go to Template>Edit HTML, leaving the "Expand widget templates" box unchecked.
2. Now, find this section in the HTML code

#sidebar-wrapper { width: 220px; float: right; word-wrap: break-word; /* fix for long text breaking sidebar float in IE */ overflow: hidden; /* fix for long non-text content breaking IE sidebar float */ }

Copy this entire section, and paste it directly below. We're going to change the elements I've highlighted in red to the following:

#left-sidebar-wrapper (this makes the css for this section unique) float: left (this will make the new sidebar float to the left of the main column)

This will provide the styling for the new sidebar element which we will create next.

3. Now, you need to find this section further down the page:

Immedietly before this section, you should paste the following piece of code:

Let me explain the elements of this code to help you understand what we've just done:

This section tells the browser that the left-sidebar element exists here, and to look in the css for the appropriate styling for this element.

This tells the browser the class of the sidebar element and all other elements (widgets) which may be included in this section. The ID of this element must be "left-sidebar" in order to make it unique, otherwie this would cause problems when viewing. It is preferred so that it will feature in the layout, even if no widgets are placed within it.

4. If you preview your template, you will notice that the right sidebar will be beneath the main section at the moment. This is because the outer-wrapper is still only wide enough to accomodate one sidebar. So now we need to expand the oputer wrapper to accomodate this new sidebar. Find this section in the HTML code:

/* Outer-Wrapper ----------------------------------------------- */ #outer-wrapper { width: 660px; margin:0 auto; padding:10px; text-align:left; font: $bodyfont; }

We need to increase the width of the wrapper by the width of the left-sidebar-wrapper, in this case 220px. So, change the value in red to 880px.

5. You may also want to change the width of the header-wrapper to 880px so that it spans the new width of your blog:

#header-wrapper { width:880px; margin:0 auto 10px; border:1px solid $bordercolor; }

6. At this point, you should save your template. At present, your new sidebar will not be seen as there are no widgets contained within it, though it will still be present in the markup of the page. Once you have saved your template, go to Template>Page elements in your Blogger dashboard.
7. Your layouts section should now look something like this:

You can now add a page element (or two) to your new left sidebar.
8. But we aren't quite finished yet! If you add anything to this left sidebar, you will probably notice that it jams right up to the main section, like this:

This is because there is no space defined between the left-sidebar and the main section. We need to create this space in the template's HTML. To do this, we will add a margin to the left hand side of the main posts section. Find the following code in your template's HTML and add the code defined in red:

#main-wrapper { width: 410px; float: left; margin-left: 20px; word-wrap: break-word; /* fix for long text breaking sidebar float in IE */ overflow: hidden; /* fix for long non-text content breaking IE sidebar float */ }

This defines a margin space of 20px between the left-sidebar and the main column. You should also ensure you adjust thw width of the outer-wrapper from 880px to 900px to ensure the width of your blog is enough to accomodate this margin too. Either that, or you could reduce the width of your main column/a sidebar by 20px to serve the same purpose. Now, your previewed template should look more like this:

9. Finally, save your template and enjoy your new sidebar!

The same principles described here can help you create a three column template from any Blogger template, though you may find that you'll need to adjust the width, margins and padding for your new sidebar in order for it to look the way you would like.
Also, you can configure your new sidebar to float to the right, and have two sidebars on the right of the main column if you prefer. Simply set the CSS of your new sidebar to float: right; instead.

At Long Last!

At long last!...i was able to fixed my two column template to three column one ...weeeh!..lol! I've been looking lately for a three column template, but whenever I found a nice one & tried to upload the codes to my edit html tools, it's always giving me an error!...arrgh.Dunno what's keeping it to have an error, I keep on following the correct step on how to install it but to no avail...shhhss!! I've been wanted for a three columns ever since and been trying to look for a pretty nice layout for my blog. I want to fully customize my sidebar and the usual two column template has a limited space for adding additional widgets. And now, I'm pretty impressed with the result. Though, i'm still kinda not contented with color combi...hehe. Still need to figure out on how to adjust my head banner. I'll just post the tutorial here later if you want to try customizing your templates too! :)

Sneak Preview Of Dora's Pirate Adventure Show

This preview was just to give you an idea on what to expect in Dora's Pirate Adventure Musical show. Honestly, I thought that the main characters of the show will be performing in their mascot costumes. But it's not. The performers are really live people! Oh no, now I'm having another second thoughts if we'll going to watch it or not...hmmm! First, the tickets are a bit expensive. Then second, Sam will definitely look for Dora the mascot, and may loose her interest to watch the entire show! Oh-men!!!...lol! Because as we all know, kids will enjoy more if they see the Dora The Explorer per se, the one they know in their favorite cartoon series and not these human performers. Oh well, it seems that Dora is just the one who's not in mascot costume. The rest of the characters will perform as mascots.

About the musical show: Dora’s Pirate Adventure!, Dora, her best buddy Boots the Monkey, and the rest of their friends embark on an exciting trip to Treasure Island. For the first time ever, the family-friendly stage show will feature Dora’s cousin, Diego – a nature and science expert. The audience will help them navigate over Music Mountain, through silly Singing Bridge and help them confront the Pirate Piggies. Along the way, the audience will use their map-reading, counting, musical and Spanish-language skills to successfully help Dora reach the treasure. All ends happily onstage with a “yo-ho-ho!”. Click here for more info about the dates of the show and ticket prices.

get paid to blog

I'm a newbie with regards to blogging. I just started this online journal of mine for about less than three months from now, I think. And I can say that blogging is very relaxing. Relaxing in a way that I'm doing this during my spare time. While my daughter's taking her nap or free from any of my tiring domestic chores. My blog is more of my personal daily life as a SAHM. I love sharing my experiences to everybody. And my daughter is my biggest inspiration in my writings. I also like to write my feedbacks and opinions about anything I wish. From any recent products that I've purchased or places I've just visited. Let's say a new toy for my daughter or a new digicam gift from hubby, or our recent trip to boracay. I just love writing about these stuff and have it posted on my blog. Heard about blogging and earning at the same time? Sounds interesting right? Since I love doing these reviews, this get paid to blog really catch my attention. It is all about writing your own opinion about a certain product from different advertisers online. What is more interesting about this blog advertising is you have the liberty of accepting or rejecting any opportunity that is available to you. Meaning It is still up to you If you want to write something about a certain product or topic. They will not oblige you to write any feedback or reviews if you don't feel writing about it. It is still up to you to select the best opportunity that fits your taste and the contents of your blog.

Excited For Summer

Summer months are the most exciting months for me & Sam. It is one of our most busiest and awaited season of the year. Why? It's my better half's annual vacation once again!...yey! :) Cant' wait to see & to be with him again, and most especially for Sam to see and bond with her daddy once more. I'm very thankful for our advance technology nowadays. Though Sam barely sees her daddy, we can still reached him through Internet. I always ensure to connect with him as much as possible so that Sam will always be familiar with his face. It's really hard to be away with someone you love. And I know that it is much more harder on his part to be away with us, not seeing her little girl's important development and milestones. Web chatting is really the best tool for us and for those other couple that are miles apart. It's truly a great help for us to lessen the sadness and the sorrows we're feeling. And now, he'll be coming home once more. Can't wait for the date to come. See you soon daddy!...Just always remeber that we're always be here waiting for you. Sam & I loves you sooo much!!!

Happy Easter

Hope everybody's having a nice Easter celebration today. Too bad, I wasn't able to bring Sam to at least one of those egg hunt events I mentioned from my previous posts. Oh well, I'm not just in the mood to go out and really feeling so lazy today to go somewhere else. The weather is so annoying too! I guess, Summer is really starting and it heats up everything it touches. The air is very humid and it's really exhausting, making your body really sticky...eww!..haha!! I just don't feel to go out with Sam and decided to better stay at home instead. Good thing we did because rain suddenly poured in the afternoon. Don't want to be laid in sickness again, especially my little one. It's realy really hard. Anyway, I just made some Easter layouts for my little bunny-girl. She just love wearing those bunny ears!...isn't she lovely:) Happy Easter everyone!!!

Have A Blessed Holy Week

Hope that everybody is having a blessed Holy Week. Though some of you for sure is spending the holiday with your family on a vacation somewhere else, always commemorate and still remember that the season is still all bout the last week of Jesus' life on this earth. The best time for us to repent and pray for his suffering by accepting the sins of mankind. Holy Week is most definitely a very sacred time of the year. With regards to me and my family, we don't have any agenda for the week. I'll just probably be staying at home with my daughter and my bro since he's on vacation too from his work. Still undecided of where to bring my girl on Easter Sunday. It's really hard for me that my better half is not around. The places where I want to go with my daughter is very limited. It's really not that easy to toggle her along. Hays, can't wait for my hubby's vacation by next month. :)

Scrappin' Alphabetically - A, B, & C Run Layouts

Been busy for the past few days, wasn't able to do some layouts for my digiscrap project. Blame it my blogging and bloghopping trip...hehe :) Anyway, here's the layout I did for the ABC Run kits of Digitreats. Again, my inspiration for all of my layouts is who else, my little mini me!...hehe An aspiring model that really loves to pose and smile in front of the camera. :)

Sam really loves to go to different kiddie playrooms, I guess every kid does. Since she doesn't have any siblings yet to play with and she's the only kid in our house, she's really longing for a playmate. So whenever we go out, and if time persists, I let her to enjoy an hour of fun and excitement at any kiddie playrooms she wants. It's an opportunity for her to meet other kids of her age and to improve more her social skills. And most of all she's enjoying the facility of the playroom like the pool of colorful balls, giant loops and slides and more and more toys!...haha! This one was taken at Kidz @ Work located at the 5th level of Megamall. I used the A Run kits here.

This was just another ordinary day for me & Sam when I took this pic. She doesn't want to take her afternoon nap and really begging me for us to go out of the house. Since where both bored and don't have nothing to do, plus my internet connection is temporarily dead....arrgh! we just went out somewhere...somewhere inside the vicinity of our frontyard...hehe :) Got my cam and turned on my mamarazzi mode once again...haha! We both had a great time. :) I used the B Run kits here.

This one was taken at Kevin Toys and Library, another kiddie playroom located at Trinoma. This is a little bit smaller playroom as compared to Kidz at Work which is suited most for infants and toddlers. It has a huge collections of toys, has game room and all sorts of kiddie books. She also had a nice time playing here. :) And lastly, here's the C Run kits .
Credits goes all to Digitreats for all of these wonderful ABC Run kits I've used.

Earning While Blogging

Blogging seems to be very "in" nowadays. It's very relaxing and a truly great way to release stress. A personal website where people would keep a running account of their personal lives or opinions about everything they wish to discuss. Most such writers called themselves diarists, journalists, or journalers. Some provides commentary or news on a particular subject. Blogs are basically inherently an expression of free speech or proliferating of information, opinions, and ideas.

After quiting my job and decided to become a stay at home mom for my first born, I never knew that being a SAHM is really a tough job. Especially that my hubby is not around to help me to take care of our little one. It's really challenging for me since it's my first time. But in a long run, I was able to adjust and get used to my new responsibilities as a mom. During my tiring and stressful days, my pc is my ever dear best friend. My shock absorber and my stress outlet. I'm a certified photoshop addict and really loves to decorate my girl's pics. And now I'm very hooked to digiscrapping. I started to explore the world wide web during my baby's nap time. I never expected myself to became more active online since I'm just stealing time from my baby. I signed up to different online communities like Friendster, Multiply, Facebook, etc. to meet other mommies like me. It was just late last year I think that I signed up here at blogspot. My daughter is my biggest inspiration why i decided to sign up for a blog. My blog's posts were mostly about sharing my expereinces on motherhood, my family, places I've visited, my hobbies and interests, and products that I like. I enjoy sharing my life of a very proud mommy to everybody.

I just recently found out that we can earn in blogging. I heard about these get paid for blogging sites and read some articles and reviews from the other blogging moms about this paid blog reviews . It's all about advertisers from this site who are willing to pay you for your opinion on various topics. Search through a list of Opportunities, make a blog posting, get your content approved, and get paid. It's that simple. Since I've been writing about web sites, products, services and companies I like and never have yet to benefit from all the sales and traffic I have helped them to generate, why not monetarizing my reviews instead. It's really appealing especially to me, a SAHM who used to work before and really missing the benefit of a regular pay. It will be helpful somehow for me to have an extra income if ever. Even it's not that much, I can help my hubby to pay some bills or do some online shopping for my little girl. So what I did was I signed up for a free account. I didn't expected for a fast approval since i read a lot of comments that you need to wait for at least a couple of weeks to have it approved. I'm just starting to explore the site and studying their toa when they emailed me informing that my blog was already approved! Whoa!...that was fast! It was only barely two days when I sent my applications. Now, i'm still checking what are the opportunites post available for me :)

For those interested bloggers, sign up for a free account now! Why wait...Start earning now!

Four Boyfriends

This was emailed to me by Neri, a very good friend of mine.

PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ... THIS IS A VERY VERY NICE STORY...MAPAPAISIP KA...

Once upon a time there was a girl who had four boyfriends. She loved the 4th boyfriend the most and adorned him with rich robes and treated him to the finest of delicacies. She gave him nothing but the best. She also loved the 3rd boyfriend very much and was always showing him off to neighboring kingdoms. However, she feared that one day he would leave her for another. She also loved her 2nd boyfriend. He was her confidant and was always kind, considerate, and patient with her. Whenever she was faced with a problem she would confide in him and he would help her get through the difficult times. Her 1st boyfriend was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining her wealth and kingdom. However, she did not love her 1st boyfriend. Although he loved her deeply she hardly took notice of him!

One day the girl fell ill and she knew her time was short. She thought of her luxurious life and wondered, I now have 4 boyfriends with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone. Thus, she asked her 4th boyfriend, "I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I am dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th boyfriend and he walked away without another word. His answer cut like a sharp knife right into her heart. The sad girl then asked her 3rd boyfriend, "I loved you all my life. Now that I am dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd boyfriend. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to marry someone else." Her heart sank and turned cold. She then asked her 2nd boyfriend, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time," replied the 2nd boyfriend. At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave." Her answer struck her like a bolt of lightning, and the girl was devastated. Then a voice called out, "I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The girl looked up and there was her 1st boyfriend. He was very skinny as he suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the girl said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance."

In truth we have 4 boyfriends in our lives: Our 4th boyfriend is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die. Our 3rd boyfriend is our possessions, status, and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others. Our 2nd boyfriend is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furtherest they can stay by us is up to the grave. And our 1st boyfriend is our Soul. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power, and pleasures of the world. However, our Soul is the only one that will follow us wherever we go. Cultivate, strengthen, and cherish it now, for it is the only part of you that will follow you to the throne of God and continue with you throughout eternity.

MORAL LESSON OF THE STORY:

Remember, when the world pushes you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray. :)

Manila Ocean Park Oceanarium

The state-of-the-art Manila Ocean Park had its soft opening almost 2 weeks ago, on February 29. It’s gorgeous and truly world-class! The Oceanarium has only been open for only two weeks but the response has been tremendous. It’s really a big hit! By showcasing indigenous marine life here in the Philis., it has encouraged people to visit and explore the country’s tourist destinations. It showcases more than 20,ooo colorful marine inhabitants of about 300 species, that are indigenous to the Philippines and Southeast Asia contained in 12,000 cubic meters of seawater. Definetely one of the largest in Asia. This Php1.2 -billion Manila Ocean Park, located behind the Quirino Grandstand at the Rizal Park in Manila, is the world’s first marine theme park to adopt a "fusion concept", housing an oceanarium, a mall, a boutique hotel and open marine habitats. All over the world, people have been saying that our country is the center of marine biodiversity. This is the time to be proud and show the world what we have.

The Oceanarium journey is divided into six sections and each section will carry a Filipino name: >"Agos"; "Bahura"; "Buhay na Karagatan"; "Pating"; "Ang Kailaliman"; and "Laot". The first section, called Agos (Flow), features a rainforest-theme with eight tanks containing freshwater species. This part of the oceanarium -- the only open area in the facility -- shows the interconnectedness between the water and land. Agos would also feature an artificial waterfall and a touch pool, where children could interact with creatures such as starfish and shrimps. The Bahura or the Reef, would exhibit artificial corals in 48 tanks, complete with their scientific and common names, and their roles in the ecosystem. Laot (Fishing Ground), on the other hand, would feature big fish and Eagle-spotted rays in a long tank. A school of barracudas would be seen swimming in a large tank at the Kalaliman (The Deep) section of the oceanarium. There would also be a shark tank and an overhead aquarium featuring the breathtaking beauty of rays.

Among the salient features of the park is a glass tunnel where visitors may get to see the some 200 species of marine life. The tunnel is a 25-meter, 220 degree curved acrylic walkway that would provide visitors the chance to better appreciate the marine species, and unlike other oceanariums in Asia, the Manila Ocean Park will be getting marine species from our own waters. Visitors will be exploring the secrets of the Philippine ocean and surrounded by such underwater wonders without actually getting wet.

Aside from the Oceanarium, Manila Ocean Park will have a mamall and a boutique hotel, which are scheduled to open late this year. The mall will feature new and unique shops that are not commonly found in other malls and a unique restaurant row located at the rear of the facility, alongside a promenade that offers an unobstructed view of the Manila Bay. This part of the park is free and accessible to the public. The 120-room hotel will also have a marine theme. Rooms facing the bay will have an uninterrupted view of the ocean and the renowned Manila Bay sunset, while others will have one wall of aquarium in the privacy of their own room, which will be a first-of-its-kind in the world.

The Concourse Plaza, located at the main entrance of the park is the central activity area for the facility. This is where various big events will take place throughout the year. The Oceanarium also has a multi-purpose hall which will house interactive multi-media educational exhibits and capable of hosting various functions. After the journey, one can enjoy a sumptuous meal at "Tagpuan", an al fresco dining facility. For those who would like to snorkel or even dive without having to go to far-flung places, the two Open Water Marine Habitats will give you that exact experience. This facility is scheduled to open in April 2008. Manila Ocean Park is owned by China Oceanis Philippines Inc., a subsidiary of China Oceanis Inc., a Singaporean-registered firm that has operated four oceanariums in China.

First Class Couturier

During my Tita's 3 weeks vacation here last February, one of her agenda is to meet a certain designer named
Nono Palmos. A Filipino couturier whose name is much more famous abroad. Honestly, I'm not familiar with the name. Some well known fashion designers like Pitoy Moreno and Randy Ortiz are just few of the names that i know in the world of fashion industry here in the Phils. My Tita was able to know him because he sponsors the clothes of TV host Gel Santos Relos for her show Citizen Pinoy on the TFC Channel. His name is very popular among our balikbayans. Among his may admirers and constant clients were Gov. Vilma Santos, Nora Aunor, Dina Bonnevie, Ruffa Gutierrez, Snooky Serna, and Maritoni Fernandez. His finely-crafted suits for men found approval in some of the most fashionable male stars such as Mark Anthony Fernandez and Marc Nelson. He has dressed up too our very own sultry singer Rachel Ann Go for her shows abroad.

I was impressed on him when he designed my Tita's clothes on the spot! His designs were very detailed and knows the best style that suits his clients age and body type. He created 3 different designs for mt Tita. He styles impeccable clothes construction, sensible yet eye-catching designs from casual to exquisite corporate wear , to luxurious dressing by creating sweeping gowns that shimmer with intricate beadwork, or arrest attention through hand-painting and dramatic detailing. He already conducted a series of fashion showthat were mostly abroad. His recent was in Ilolilo that pays tribute to the weavers of Panay in a collection rich in cultural references, the vibrant colors of Panay, and the inherent elegance of the women of Panay. To know more about Nono Palmos, visit his website. With regards to his service fee...oh wow! You wouldn't want to know...lol! Let me say, his market is much more appreciated by his clients abroad and who has really this enough budget to wear his glamorous creations.=)
